Come, say hello. Try to thrust your fanfiction in Thomm's hands.
No Such Convention, Poughkeepsie, NY, 02/20-23/2015
No Such Convention (NSCon) is a small, three day, family friendly fan convention held annually at Vassar College and managed by the college's geek club: No Such Organization. We offer a little bit of everything from board games to table tops, to video game tournaments, to panels and workshops, to musical performances, to cosplay and live-action roleplay, to vendors and just about everything in between. We are the biggest little convention around.
Novelist Thomm Quackenbush will be premiering his new book "Pagan Standard Times" as well as conducting panels.
Admission is free for students with a valid school ID (yes, any school!) or $20 for the weekend. Preregister to save $8 on your weekend admission.
Thomm has previously appeared at Otakon, No Such Convention, Berkshire Anime and Manga Convention, the Tivoli Library, the Blodgett Library, the Pleasant Valley Library, Inquiring Minds Bookstore, Halfmoon Books, Notions-N-Potions, Cornell Street Studios, the Rhinebeck Aerodrome, the Pine Bush UFO Fair and Parade, Bard College, and Barnes & Noble.
Thomm Quackenbush is an author and teacher in the Hudson Valley. Double Dragon publishes three novels in his Night's Dream series (We Shadows, Danse Macabre, and Artificial Gods). His fourth book in the Night's Dream series, Flies to Wanton Boys, is due shortly. He has sold jewelry in Victorian England, confused children as a mad scientist, filed away more books than anyone has ever read, and tried to inspire the learning disabled and gifted. He is capable of crossing one eye, raising one eyebrow, and once accidentally groped a ghost. He finds that friends do not enjoy the extremes he goes to in order to research books, as these involve mortuaries and UFO support groups. When not writing, he can be found biking, hiking the Adirondacks, grazing on snacks at art openings, and keeping a straight face when listening to people tell him they are in touch with 164 species of interstellar beings.
