Jess is one of the newest acquisitions to this sad little menagerie, born of a woman with extraneous Zs in her name who likes to disappear with her husband to tour Canada by motorcycle. We imagine this in not an infrequent sort of event and, certainly, this would influence a growing girl.

Jess first appeared in 2009, because Xen politely prodded her for the purposes of friendship on a social networking site. Three months later and despite having ignored her account for two years, she wrote back and confirmed that she was just dandy with friendship. After hanging out with her three times in quick succession, Xen decided he had a crush on her and then decided that maybe he just had a crush on what she represented and that it would behoove him to shut up about it so as to not spoil his friendship with her and relationship with Melanie.

She has yet to meet a Melanie, as of this writing, but it is widely assumed that they will become instant friends, as Xen has occupied himself talking them both up to the other.
